The fascinating path and steady struggle for the „keys to one’s own
kingdom“ are themes that permeate the songs of the Viennese band
MOJO AUGUST. As they put it: “It’s about Life, Love and Other
Substances.” Bandleader Jake Stumpf and his ensemble play with an
impressive, uninhibited passion for life, capturing both its flattering highs
and its painful depths.
The Sound: Built for big stages. Featuring heavy American roots rock and
blues riffs, undomesticated Britpop, and desperate country ballads, they
offer a level of variety that few other musical projects can claim. The extravagant vocal talents of Jake and Agnes, along with character-driven
guitar sounds, are perfectly complemented by groovy basslines.
The New Era: Since 2026, the band has presented itself with a new lineup.
With Simon on guitar and Chris on drums, the sound has gained
significant energy and depth—a fresh dynamic that further charges their
musical spectrum and sets new accents both live and in the studio.
